FAQ

How can I join, or leave the beta?
To join the beta, complete the Solsta Beta Request Form here.
To leave the beta, please email our Product Adoption Team here.
Is the Solsta Beta free?
Yes! Participation in the Solsta Beta is free for any members of your organization involved with deployments. During the Beta, we ask our testers to report any flaws, errors, or imperfections discovered in the software and participate in occasional feedback requests to improve our product. In turn, we'll provide you with a more useful and robust solution for your organization!
How long with the beta program last?
The Solsta Beta will run through June 2022. This will include multiple iterations as we expand features and functionality.
What is included in the Solsta Beta?
The initial iteration of the Solsta Beta focuses on deployments: scripts and tools on the backend, plus a desktop application to visualize these deployments.

The ability to sync (download or update) environments on machines is not included in the initial beta version. However, that functionality will be in the next milestone release during the Beta period.

Please see the roadmap here for more details on upcoming features.
How much time should your users spend daily/weekly using your product?
This depends on the complexity of your deployment platform. The initial setup will be the most time-consuming portion of participating in the Solsta Beta in all instances. To help you with that, we have extensive documentation and videos to aid with implementation.
Once Solsta deployments are automated, we anticipate deployment managers perusing through the Solsta desktop application anywhere between 15-60 minutes per week, depending on the number of environments and repositories.
How do I communicate with support during the beta?
There are several different ways for you to contact us to let us know about an issue, suggest an improvement, request a new feature, or ask us a question.
1. Click on the question mark icon from the Solsta Desktop Application and follow the prompts to create a support ticket.
2. Email Technical Support with your issue or request.
3. Go to the Solsta Support Portal and follow the prompts to create a support ticket
How frequently will you send communications and updates during the beta?
We will touch base with your team once every two weeks to ask how things are going and get your feedback. We may also send out periodic surveys and updates on upcoming milestones.
What user roles are being targeted?
The initial iteration of the Solsta Beta targets deployment managers and other backend administrators tasked with deploying internal build iterations throughout their organization. This includes design, setup, automation, and integration with scripts and tools. The Solsta desktop application also facilitates visualizing these deployments and distributions across various products, environments, and repositories.

Phase 1 of the Solsta Beta targets deployment managers and other backend administrators tasked with deploying internal build iterations throughout their organization. This includes pipeline design, setup, automation, and integration with scripts and tools. The Solsta desktop application provides visualization of build release activities across various products, environments, and repositories.

In Phase 2, the Solsta Beta will expand to include all users in an organization authorized to access build distributions. The Solsta desktop application will grant access to repositories and environments. These users will get benefits from Solsta's data transfer optimization features, including high throughput, byte-level differencing, and data deduplication when accessing their builds.
What should I expect after the beta program ends?
We will keep you informed of all the feedback we've collected from our Beta participants and how we're adjusting the roadmap to account for these requests.
We will also follow up with pricing and licensing information, along with estimated release dates for release candidates and production rollouts.
